The newspaper Donya-e-Eqtesad held a conference on energy economics in the construction industry on July 15, 2011. The conference focus was on energy efficiency in the three areas of design, construction, and operation.

The conference were being held in line with the government’s subsidy reform plan, the goal of which is to encourage energy conservation and reduce household costs.

The conference featured the following topics:

• Improving energy consumption culture and efficiency in buildings
• Green buildings, wind and solar energy in the construction industry (Zero Energy Building)
• Pricing buildings based on energy consumption
• Housing as a commodity that requires standards

Following the Economy of Energy in the Construction Industry conference held by the Donya-e-Eqtesad newspaper, a training workshop on energy management with an emphasis on solar energy in buildings was held by the KIT University of Steinbeis in Berlin, Germany.

In this workshop, which was accompanied by a certificate for participants, an effort was made to familiarize participants with the latest energy management achievements in the world in buildings. In addition, the use of solar energy in the construction industry in Iran and abroad, especially in European countries with less sunshine than Iran, was practically introduced.

In addition to these, taking into account the cleanliness of solar energy, we will take action to help protect the environment, which is undoubtedly our human and national duty.

Hamid Moradi participated in this workshop and his interests in sustainable construction led him to the Economy of Energy conference, where he learned about green building solutions and energy-efficient design principles.
